Key checks pre-stream/record:
- Turn off in-game music (note: Lunar Lanes, Bumper Paradise, and Private Lane in Bowl and Mars Hall in Darts are DMCA safe, however the lobby music is not. So be wary of jumping back to the lobby after playing in one of these halls, if you turn the music on.) This is done via the settings menu, found on the left controller (three lines/hamburger button). Both game tutorials also feature copyright music, so if you wish to capture the tutorial complete it once and the relaunch it from the pin/dart computer.
- Your oculus username will be visible in game (which will allow users to request you as a friend, just like a gamertag). You can change your in game name by going to the trophy wall in the lobby (opposite the front desk) and selecting your user icon.
- You can also adjust your Oculus Avatar through the user icon on the trophy wall. This will control how your Avatar looks in game. It can also be customized from your Oculus Profile.
- If giving away promo codes, here is the how to for sharing with your community. Due to the game being Oculus Quest and Quest 2 only, only the web claim and mobile claim are consistent.
Stream Your Point of View (POV)
To cast what you are seeing from your headset, there are two common methods to choose from. You can either stream to a browser on your computer or directly to your phone. Please choose the method that works best for your recording setup.
To stream directly from your headset:
- Select Social from the Universal Menu
- Select Cast
- Select either your phone or from the web and follow the on-screen instructions to connect.

Lauren’s Note:
I stream using Airserver (it turns my computer into a cast to option, it will look like a Google Chromecast in the menu on my device) and then capture the window as my input in OBS. This also captures in-game audio. My preferred set up:
- Stream using AIrserver (on my Mac, blasphemy I know)
- Use device mic to for my voice + party chat
- Turn off in-game music (note: Lunar Lanes, Bumper Paradise, and Private Lane (Bowl) and Mars Hall (Darts) are DMCA safe, however the lobby music is not. So be wary of jumping back to the lobby after playing in one of these lanes, if you turn the music on.
- If playing with “friendlies” I keep all mics open:
- B button mutes/unmutes yourself
- Pointing and selecting the mute button on someone else’s name badge will mute/unmute them. You can also mute people through your party settings (in settings menu) if they’re running around.
Stream Yourself Inside the Game (MRC)
Mixed Reality Capture (MRC) allows you to stream yourself in-game. It requires a bit more setup, but it shows you instead of your avatar.
To get it going quickly, here’s what you’ll do:
- Download Mixed Reality on a new(ish) iPhone or iPad.
- Follow one of the below video tutorials to configure
- Connect your device your fav streaming software like OBS
- Stream from inside the game.
