Single player means you'll only be playing against an NPC, or a bot, in a hall of your choosing. You can also select different kinds of bots with different kinds of stats so you can choose the one that matches with your current stats to play a fair game or you can pick a hard bot if you're up for the challenge. To access Single Player:
Go to the Main Menu in the lobby. This is how the option shows in-game:
