Ready to start a game?! We will walk you through it! When you open the game you start in the lobby. In the center of the lobby there is a “computer” that is shaped like a cornhole board, we call this the “Board Computer”. Move your avatar to the front of the Board Computer. From the Board Computer you have a couple different options on how to start a game. The options are as follows:
Single Player:
Single player means you'll only be playing against an NPC, or a bot, in a hall of your choosing. You can also select different kinds of bots with different kinds of stats so you can choose the one that matches with your current stats to play a fair game or you can pick a hard bot if you're up for the challenge. Check out this article for more information on NPCs, Getting to know the NPCs.
Quick match:
Sometimes you just want to hop into a game and this is the feature for you! By using Quick Match the game will find an open multiplayer game and put you in it! After you press Quick Match you can see the game searching for an open party and then you will be able to join if it finds an open party.
Private Game:
In Private Game, you have the option to either host a private room or enter a code for a private room. Hosting a room will require you to invite an Oculus friend or you may give the Room Code to your friend so they can enter it on their end to join your party. To know more about codes, check out Room codes: where and how to use them?
Pass and Play:
Local play! Only have one headset and want to share it with your friends and family? Pass and Play is for you! To know more about this option, check out What is Pass and Play?
Once you've chosen which kind of mode you'd like to play, all you'll have to do is pick a bot you'd like to play against and choose a hall. For multiplayer options, there's no option to pick a bot. If there are only three players, a random bot would be assigned to the person with no partner. Once that's done, you can click on “Play” to get started! Remember, for Quick Match, you'll be hopping into a game so you won't have the option to play with a bot or pick halls.
