Strategy
Pool has a rich history spanning hundreds of years! Through the millions of games played strategy has become an important facet of gameplay! Players should not only be planning their current shot but multiple shots ahead! Choose solids or stripes wisely after the break, analyzing what is on the table can be very fruitful!
Adding Spin
By knowing how to add a little spin you can gain control of how you play and improve your game! To get into adding spin when lining up your shot hold the index trigger to move into shot mode, then hold the grip trigger to enable setting targeting for spin. If you need a refresher on these please check out the posters from within the Cue Pro Shop from within the lobby.
You can add top spin to the cue ball by imagining a clock face on the cue ball. Strike the ball between the center and the 12 o’clock position. Doing so will create a little spin that causes the ball to travel farther and to deflect at a slightly larger angle from bumpers or other balls.
Bottom spin creates the exact opposite effect to top spin. Instead of letting the cue ball continue to move down the table after hitting another ball, the bottom spin causes the ball to stop after transferring its energy to another ball. This shot will also shrink the angles of deflection for the ball off of bumpers. To create a bottom spin on a cue ball, hit the ball between the center and the 6 o’clock position.
Side spin is the most complicated form of cue ball spin causing the cue ball to take a curved path down the table and transfer that rotational force to the target ball.. This form comes in left and right forms and can combine with the top and bottom spin. Some people refer to side spin as English. To create a left spin, hit the ball between the center and 9 o’clock. Right spin happens when you hit the ball between 3 o’clock and the center.
Cue stats, the quickness of your arm when taking, and cue placement when hitting all affect your spins outcome!

Game Settings
There are three setting options you can change when starting a game:
- Target Lines: show the projected angle of your shot. There are three options for this setting: max, mid, and off. Max will fully show the shot lines. Off will not show any projected lines. Mid will only show a portion of the projected lines.
- Pocket Calls: There are three options for pocket calls: off, 8-Ball, and all. If you select “Off” you will not need to call pockets. If you select “All” you will need to call a pocket each time you hit.
Shot Clock: A shot clock will determine how long you get per shot. If time is exceeded then the turn is skipped. There are four time settings: 20s, 40s, 60s, and Off.
